Rye Ukulele Experiment will be cruising the pubs of Rye in aid of Children in Need on Friday 14th November. Starting at the Queens Head, Landgate at 7pm we will also be calling in at The Cinque Ports pub, The Pipe makers and Danny’s Olde Worlde Wine Bar (if we can all fit in) during the evening. We are going to play a short set at each stop and hope to raise lots of money for the appeal from the generous people of Rye. There will be other surprise pub visits during the evening – surprise to us too at the moment!
THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDENT SO KEEP FINGERS CROSSED THAT THE RAIN STOPS BEFORE 6PM
Thanks for your understanding
Perfect weather and an appreciative audience greeted us today outside Adams in the High Street, Rye where we busked in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. The people of Rye and visitors were extraordinarily generous – thanks so much. We are also grateful to the Rye Arts Festival for their support.
Setting up for our Maritime Festival debut.
Thanks to the organisers of the festival for finding us such a nice spot to play in and thanks to the public for their great support.
The boys waiting to strum their socks off.
Thanks to Ken Hall for the images.
There’s a busy weekend ahead for the Experiment. Saturday from 12.30ish we will be performing in the beautiful gardens at Little Orchard House in West Street, Rye and on Sunday you can find us at Fair Fest. Playing at the Fairlight Recreation Ground in Commanders Walk from around 3.30pm. Come along and enjoy the sunshine and the ukes.
“There’s something about guitars, they’re just so big, you know what I mean?
You’re just like, “Ugh!” Its just seems so overwhelming and the Ukulele is, like the opposite of overwhelming.”
Come rain or shine we meet at The Queens Head, Landgate, Rye at 7.30pm every Tuesday evening. All are welcome from beginner, through improver to expert. We always have a spare Uke if anyone just ‘wants a go’.
