Kate Jeffery receives the cheque from Ian Burford
The Rye Ukulele Experiment had the pleasure yesterday evening of playing at St Michael’s Hospice shop for their Christmas Extravaganza. We wrapped up the event-filled day by playing some of our favourite numbers along with a selection of suitably Christmassy songs. Accompanied by customers and staff in the shop we Jingle Belled and White Christmassed till 8pm.
We also took the opportunity of donating a cheque, to manageress Kate Jeffery, raised by our busking this year bringing the total raised for the hospice to a little over £200.
A great day was had by all – thanks so much to the staff and helpers at the shop for their hospitality.
The Experiment had a brilliant night last night touring Rye and playing in various pubs to fund raise for Children in Need. The weather stayed fine and we were made welcome everywhere we went.
Special thanks to The Queens Head, The Ypres Castle, The Standard, The Pipe Makers, The Cinque Ports and The Olde Worlde Wine Bar (hic) for allowing us to play and collect from their customers. Thanks also to their customers for donating in excess of £160 last night.
The following pics were taken at the Cinque Ports by Kerrianne who also got the thankless task of bucket carrier and donation collector.
Rye Ukulele Experiment will be cruising the pubs of Rye in aid of Children in Need on Friday 14th November. Starting at the Queens Head, Landgate at 7pm we will also be calling in at The Cinque Ports pub, The Pipe makers and Danny’s Olde Worlde Wine Bar (if we can all fit in) during the evening. We are going to play a short set at each stop and hope to raise lots of money for the appeal from the generous people of Rye. There will be other surprise pub visits during the evening – surprise to us too at the moment!
THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDENT SO KEEP FINGERS CROSSED THAT THE RAIN STOPS BEFORE 6PM
Thanks for your understanding
